CCNS seeks to provide a relaxed atmosphere that correlates to the natural unfolding of a child's development. In an effort to nurture the whole child, our activities provide opportunities for each child to develop physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and creatively. All learning experiences are planned in accordance with the interest and ability levels of our students. We seek to encourage positive feelings of self and instill a joy of learning. We feel that only as partners with parents can we make a vital contribution to the lives of the children in our care.


We offer a convenient mix of regularly scheduled classes with a variety of age-appropriate choices. Our 3-year-old classes are limited to 12 students; in Young 4's there are no more than 14 students and our Pre-K classes are limited to 16 students. Each class session is two and one half hours. Morning classes meet from 9 - 11:30 AM and afternoon classes meet from 12:45 - 3:15 PM. Children must be at least 2 years, 8 months-old by September 1 of the school year to be eligible for our program.

Movement and music instruction is an integral part of our curriculum. Children meet on a weekly basis with our gym specialist and participate in our Visiting Musicians' program, which offers exposure to a variety of musical experiences.


Throughout the school year, CCNS works hard to add quality in-house programming to further enrich our curriculum.

Typical activities include puppet shows, musical presentations, visits by our local community helpers, and celebrations such as "We Love to Read Month" in February and "The Week of the Young Child" in April.

Optional extracurricular programs include Creative Arts class, offered weekly in both the morning and afternoon. This is a great opportunity for kids to create special art treasures, often based on a seasonal or holiday theme. CCNS offers a Lunch Bunch program three times a week, where children can enjoy lunch and playtime with friends. Science Adventures allows our little scientists to explore age-appropriate scientific principles. Cooking With Kids exposes the children to kid-friendly recipes as they mix, measure and munch.

Mommy & Me is a very popular weekly program where younger children, not yet old enough to participate in our Young 3's program, can enjoy a preschool experience with their Mothers or special adult in a classroom setting. This class is designed for children who are 2 years, 2 months-old by September 1 and serves as an introduction to our program for both child and parent alike.
